Thank you for choosing to submit to Morgantown Writing Group’s Writers Corner. Please review the submission guidelines below to make sure your work is primed for publication. We look forward to reviewing your work!
Reprints are allowed, but please indicate if your piece has been previously published, and if so, where it first appeared so we can credit the original publisher. Some magazines have an exclusivity period after they publish your work. This means they expect you to wait anywhere between 3 months to a year before you publish the piece with any other publication. If you submit to the Writer’s Corner, we will take that action as your confirmation that enough time as passed for your piece to be republished.
Please include a short contributor’s bio written in the third person along with your manuscript. This will be published along with your piece if it is accepted.
You may submit up to two (2) pieces at a time, and these can be fiction, creative nonfiction, poetry, or miscellaneous work. Miscellaneous work is creative, written pieces that fall outside the categories above and include but are not limited to: plays, screenplays, hybrid pieces, and experimental fiction.
The word count maximum for submissions is 3k words per piece.
Submissions should be ready to publish as is.
Accepted file types are .doc, .docx, .txt, or .rtf and must be attached to the email. Bios and a cover letter, if you’d like to include one, should be in the body of the email.
Submissions can be sent to morgantownwritersgroup@gmail.com.
If your piece is accepted, you retain the copyright.
It is free to submit to MWG’s Writer’s corner. We do not offer payment.
